how do custom

orders work?

Can you provide me a quote?

We'd love to! The most efficient way is by emailing us with photos, as much detail as possible, your contact information, and any inspiration images that help us understand your project goals. Please note our emails are only monitored during our hours of operation (Thurs-Sat 10-4 PM). We will get back to you in the order your message was received.

What kind of custom work do you do?

Our in-house mill gives us a wide range; custom tables, stairs treads, shelving, countertops, butcher blocks, benches, pergolas, lumber, etc. We also do basic welding for table frames, factory window units, and floating shelf brackets.

We are registered with the Historic Commission for facade work and other historic restoration needs as well.

What is your turn around time frame?

Custom orders are currently 3-4 months out. We update this as accurately as possible and are as transparent as possible when talking through projects. This time frame is not for things like stripping or lumber.

We ask clients to keep in mind timelines can slightly change due to weather setbacks, Covid-19, supply chain shortages, and a variety of reasons out of our control. Your patience is deeply valued as a small business with limited staff.

What is your custom order process?

From the date you place a deposit your order will be entered into our custom order queue, which currently has a 3-4 month turnaround. The initial email you receive will welcome you into our queue and inform you of the next emails to come.

Every three weeks our carpenters begin eight new projects. When your project is three weeks out from being due to begin you will be emailed to confirm project scope is accurate, hardware if applicable, and paint if applicable. Lastly, you will receive an email when your tier is beginning.

How do I place an order?

For detailed work like a factory window wall unit or multiple orders please email us with as much information, drawings, inspiration photos, and your contact information.

For shelf orders or projects that you have questions about please visit us in-store. Seeing our store and talking through the possibilities will help answer any questions or concerns you are having.

What is your refund policy?

We DO NOT offer refunds.

Custom order deposits are non-refundable. The moment we take your order, work has begun. Your deposit sets into motion material sourcing, prepping lumber, kiln drying that lumber, meetings with staff, and planning around your project - All labor intensive.
